PLA Matte
A rigid, dimensionally accurate plastic with a matte finish. It prints cleanly with fine detail and is the right choice for most enclosures, brackets, fixtures, prototypes and display parts that stay at room temperature.
- Density
- 1.31 g/cm³
- Tensile strength (XY)
- 30 MPa
- Heat deflection temperature (1.8 MPa)
- 52 °C
- Max overhang without supports
- 55°
Colours
A matte surface that hides layer lines well and does not pick up fingerprints.
- BlackCharcoal
- WhiteIvory White
Good for
- Prototypes and fit checks with accurate dimensions
- Enclosures, mounts, brackets and jigs used indoors
- Display parts, where the matte surface hides layer lines
- Parts with fine detail and sharp edges
Keep in mind
- Softens from about 55 °C, so keep it out of cars in summer and away from heaters
- Stiff rather than tough: it cracks before it bends under impact
- Weaker across the layers, so orient load-bearing features along the plate
- Not resistant to acids, alkalis or solvents such as acetone
Specifications
Typical values measured by the filament manufacturer on standard test specimens. A printed part behaves differently depending on its shape, infill and orientation on the plate.
XY: loaded along the layers. Z: loaded across the layers, which is always the weaker direction.
